Arbor Day Celebration
At the City Council's Committee of the Whole Meeting on April 21, 2021, Mayor Streit proclaimed April 30, 2021 as Arbor Day in the City of Lockport. To help you celebrate this year, below you will find some resources to help you keep the spirit of Arbor Day strong. This year's celebration will also start the kick off of the 150 Year Anniversary of Arbor Day.

Tree City USA Award
The City of Lockport was recently named a 2020 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. The community also received a Tree City USA Growth Award for demonstrating environmental improvement and a high level of tree care.
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. More information about the Tree City USA program is available on the Arbor Day website.
