Lockport Water Bills Have New Look
The Lockport Water Department has updated the water billing format to provide more information for residents.
Residents will begin receiving the new bills at the end of August. The bills will no longer be in a postcard format and will instead be in a sealed envelope. This allows the City of Lockport to include more information for the residents, including information about the bill and general citywide news.
City of Lockport Finance Director Lisa Heglund wanted to stress that the new billing format is just a visual improvement, and does not represent a change in the rate structure. "The new billing format is a way for the city to communicate to residents how their total bill is calculated and how it compares to their historical use" said Finance Director Heglund. "It also allows the city to send out important information to residents that the postcard format did not allow."
Questions regarding the bill should be directed to the City’s Water Department by calling 815-838-0549, or visiting during business hours at 222 E 9th Street Lockport, IL.

Well 13 has been rehab-ed we are just waiting for the new pipe and parts to be delivered. Once the parts are delivered we will need 2-4 days to reinstall test and sample. We do not have an exact date on all of the pipe and parts coming. We are monitoring the water daily for chlorine and pressure. Well 12 we have all the parts ordered as well as some being re-manufactured. The timeline on both are still hard to pinpoint but we are working hard to get them both done as fast as possible and done right to last for years to come.
City crews will be flushing hydrants starting September 8th and running until complete (fall), around mid-November. Signs will be posted when flushing will occur in your neighborhood.
